Since I remembered that I have a blog, here are my predictions for the 2012-13 NBA season. Last year's predictions were pretty accurate. kthxbye.
Rookie of the Year: Damien Lillard - Looks really good so far. Has the starting spot locked up.
Dark Horse: Anthony Davis - This should be a no brainer. He'll have competition, but
really no other rookie should see more minutes than the unibrow. That said, New Orleans is weird.
MVP: Lebron James - He's the best player.
Dark Horse: No one on the Lakers roster should be allowed. If Lebron wasn't so dominant, he shouldn't be allowed and I don't think KD should even be allowed. I'm going to go crazy here and say Chris Paul or James Harden.
Coach of the Year: Hopefully, George Karl. Never won, deserved it many times.
Dark Horse: Tyrone Corbin. Corbin's Jazz could win 50 if they play to their potential. Terry Stotts is another hopeful.
Sixth Man: Jamal Crawford. Can break your ankles by just looking at you.
Dark Horse: JR Smith. Crazy offensively.
Defensive Player of the Year: Ibaka - He's not a very good overall defender, but the voters love blocks and he's the best.
Dark Horse: Josh Smith - He's a good perimeter defender, gets blocks, gets steals. Chandler. Howard.
NBA Champion: Heat over Thunder 4-3

Recuerdo - Edna St. Vincent Millay
We were very tired, we were very merry—
We had gone back and forth all night on the ferry.
It was bare and bright, and smelled like a stable—
But we looked into a fire, we leaned across a table,
We lay on a hill-top underneath the moon;
And the whistles kept blowing, and the dawn came soon.
We were very tired, we were very merry—
We had gone back and forth all night on the ferry;
And you ate an apple, and I ate a pear,
From a dozen of each we had bought somewhere;
And the sky went wan, and the wind came cold,
And the sun rose dripping, a bucketful of gold.
We were very tired, we were very merry,
We had gone back and forth all night on the ferry.
We hailed, "Good morrow, mother!" to a shawl-covered head,
And bought a morning paper, which neither of us read;
And she wept, "God bless you!" for the apples and pears,
And we gave her all our money but our subway fares.

The Cabin in the Woods
If you’re a fan of horror movies, skip this review and go see the movie. If not, let me sell it to you.
The movie is the brainchild of geek god Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard. While Goddard worked with Whedon on the popular TV shows, Buffy and Angel, he also penned nine episodes of LOST. This was his first time in the director’s chair.
‘The Cabin in the Woods’ features some good players with familiar faces. Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Richard Jenkins (Step Brothers), and Bradley Whitford (Billy Madison). Rounding out the heart of the cast are newcomers Kristen Connolly and Fran Kanz. Both deliver perfect performances for their roles.
Fans of horror movies will note that nearly all them try to inject some humor. This humor is often crass and ultimately apparent that the writer has no idea what constitutes humor. TCITW has wonderful dialogue that is not seemingly forced. Several visual gags add to the experience and are very well crafted.
I don’t want to plant the idea that this film is a laugh riot. I laughed three times and snickered four or five more. It’s a horror film. It’s a horror film that you’ve never seen before, despite what you may think from the trailer. It’s core is cliché. Five college kids take a vacation to a deserted cabin. One couple, one set of kids that eventually hooks up, and the fifth wheel, usually the pot head/ outcast. Yup, it’s there. Overall, the movie takes horror clichés and beats the crap out of them and forces them to do it’s bidding.
Things get interesting. The plot unfolds at a very nice pace, not giving too much away. This is a plot I have never seen before and don’t believe it’s been done. I had heard that there was a huge twist ending. I was expecting to be Shyamalaned. I mostly figured it out around the halfway mark. I was still a little surprised.
I recommend this movie to anywone who likes movies and wants to see something new, but also something that they are used to. I’ll recommend it to anyone that is open minded. I think that the originality of this movie will be lost on the general public and it will be polarizing to the rest of us. I loved it.
Score: 89/100
